Responsibilities
- Assist the Rehabilitation Staff with patient-related activities as per state licensure and Practice Acts mandates.
- Transport patients to and from the rehabilitation department for scheduled treatments as requested and assist with transfers.
- Prepare patients for therapy as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Help in the modification of patient equipment such as wheelchairs and splints as necessary.
- Report patient responses to treatment and changes in medical status to the supervising therapist immediately.
- Assist with computer data entry and generate reports as requested.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation of direct and indirect time, payroll, efficiency, and clinical reporting.
- Adhere to confidentiality standards of HIPAA and all Infection Control, Universal Precautions, and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering calls, photocopying, filing, faxing/scanning/uploading documents, and supply orders.
- Maintain the rehabilitation area and equipment in a neat, clean, and safe manner.
- Attend in-services and facility meetings as required.
- Work cooperatively in group situations and demonstrate flexibility, team building, and promote a positive work environment.
- Implement a customer service philosophy to promote value and customer loyalty.
- Report to work on time and adhere to the schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated concise oral and written communication skills with staff, patients, and families.
- Ability to demonstrate regular attendance.
