About the position

The Rehabilitation Counselor II position at the State of New Hampshire's Department of Education focuses on providing comprehensive services to enhance employment potential and personal independence for individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities

  • Provides counseling and guidance to persons with disabilities and their significant others to maximize employment potential and personal independence.
  • Develops individual functional profiles by collecting and analyzing medical, psychological, and vocational evaluations to make eligibility decisions and determine rehabilitation needs.
  • Approves, implements, and amends Individualized Plans for Employment in accordance with state and federal regulations, establishing long-term vocational goals and specific services.
  • Plans, approves, and monitors the expenditure of state and federal funds to secure essential services for the Individualized Plan for Employment.
  • Manages a sizable and diverse caseload to ensure timely services and meet numerical goals for successful rehabilitations, documenting individual case records to comply with regulations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field such as Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • Two years of professional experience in education, vocational guidance, rehabilitation counseling, or related fields.
  • Eligibility for New Hampshire driver's license or access to transportation for statewide travel.
