About the position

The Rehabilitation Technician position at Symbtec involves providing vocational and habilitation training, therapy, and supervision for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role requires following individual support plans to meet the needs of the clients and ensuring their safety and well-being in a developmental center or community home setting.

Responsibilities

• Follow the individual support plan to ensure the needs and active treatment requirements of persons served are met.
• Communicate with families, conservators, and employers of persons served to share information and meet active treatment requirements.
• Analyze medical treatment and training data to detect changes in needs, behavior, and abilities.
• Analyze environmental data to ensure the safety and appropriate environment for persons served.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration among staff.
• Train other staff on active treatment interventions to meet the requirements of individual support plans.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience in behavioral health, mental health counseling, or working with people with disabilities.
• Crisis intervention experience for at least 1 year.
• Ability to commute to Nashville, TN 37214.
• Valid vehicle operator's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional college or technical coursework in education, social or behavioral science, industrial arts, nursing, or mental health may be beneficial.
