The Rehabilitation Technician at Memorial Hermann Health System is responsible for preparing patients for treatment and assisting therapists with patient care under direct supervision. Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for treatment and assist therapists with patient care under supervision.
• Administer treatments or procedures as delegated by the therapist.
• Transport patients and assist with functional activities and supervised mobility activities.
• Perform therapeutic exercises, ultrasound, heat/cold applications, and electrical stimulation treatments.
• Maintain and distribute linen and ensure cleanliness in the department.
• Complete routine documentation duties accurately and efficiently.
• Assist department managers with various tasks or specific projects.
• Promote individual professional growth and development through continuing education and skills competency.
• Model Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate clinical information to patients and caregivers.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75/100 pounds and carry up to 30 pounds; prolonged standing; frequent walking, stooping, and squatting.
• Fine hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to receive and communicate oral and written information effectively.
• Visual ability to monitor instruments and recognize alphanumeric characters.
