About the position

Castle Biosciences is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join their remote team. This role is essential in providing high-quality customer service to both internal and external customers, particularly in the biotech field. The specialist will handle inquiries related to insurance billing and reimbursement processes, ensuring effective communication and support throughout the billing cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming telephone and email inquiries while providing high-level customer service.
  • Provide backup support for submitting molecular diagnostic laboratory claims.
  • Follow up with patients and providers regarding claims and documentation.
  • Educate callers on the reimbursement process and billing policies.
  • Respond promptly to email requests from patients, clinician offices, and area sales managers regarding reimbursement-related issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of customer service experience, preferably in a call center environment.
  • Minimum of two years of health insurance billing experience with a focus on identifying and resolving claim issues.
  • Experience collaborating with patients, providers, and insurance plans throughout the billing cycle.
  • Experience researching and utilizing payor websites.
  • Certification in Medical Billing and/or Coding or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to type 30 WPM with 90% or higher accuracy.
