About the position

The Reimbursement Manager at HCA Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the preparation and compliance of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports to ensure appropriate reimbursement for hospitals. This role involves critical analysis of financial data, collaboration with hospital personnel, and communication with fiscal auditors to support the reimbursement process. The position plays a vital role in maintaining compliance with company policies and enhancing the financial performance of healthcare services.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Medicare and Medicaid cost reports to obtain appropriate reimbursement from these programs.
  • Prepare accounting entries to record the cost reports.
  • Revise data elements used to compute contractual adjustments based on the latest annual cost report and periodic interim cost reports.
  • Review hospital's monthly contractual adjustment computations for accuracy and compliance with policies.
  • Periodically visit hospitals to assure compliance with data collection requirements for cost reporting and to address operational changes.
  • Supply fiscal MAC auditors with data and support for cost report preparation and respond to inquiries.
  • Critically review proposed adjustments to cost reports and decide on appeals with the Director and Managing Director.
  • Assist hospitals in preparing and reviewing contractual adjustments budgets.
  • Prepare annual and final external audit work papers.
  • Communicate issues to both the reporting and division directors.
  • Serve as a resource on reimbursement matters to hospital personnel.
  • Assist in preparation of feasibility studies for new services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
