About the position

The Reimbursement Specialist, Medical Records Processor plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of Guardant Health by facilitating optimized billing processes and operations. This position involves working closely with physicians and hospital staff to obtain accurate and compliant documentation for reimbursement, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery aligned with the company's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service by being attentive and proactive in addressing customer concerns.
  • Obtain appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with healthcare staff.
  • Analyze clinical and financial information from various sources including mail, email, and portals.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing requests electronically and manually.
  • Perform quality checks on all work to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines for the release of medical information.
  • Work individually and in a team environment to accomplish set goals and assist with backlogs.
  • Review documents to determine if they should be uploaded, replaced, or deleted.
  • Utilize a computer for data input, retrieval, and report generation.
  • Attend required educational training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Maintain equipment in excellent operating condition and troubleshoot issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in medical records or related healthcare experience.
  • Experience with contacting and following up with insurance carriers on denials and appeals (preferred).
  • Proficient in computer software and technology, with above-average typing skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, including Excel.
  • Familiarity with laboratory billing, Xifin, Salesforce, and payer portals is a plus.
  • Ability to work professionally and efficiently in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with high volume and multiple accounts in collections.
  • Familiarity with national and regional payers throughout the country.
