About the position

Aon is seeking an Actuarial Analyst - Reinsurance to join our industry-leading team in New York City. In this role, you will play a crucial part in empowering results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Reinsurance Solutions line. Your primary responsibility will be to support clients as requested by your supervisor or brokers, engaging in various client projects and internal research assignments. As an analyst, you are expected to develop proficiencies in completing standard analyses while also participating in more advanced analyses as needed. You will become familiar with Aon's tools and approaches, contribute to their development, and present Aon's solutions and services to our clients. Additionally, you may assist in pricing parameter updates and market research as part of your secondary responsibilities. Your impact as an Actuarial Analyst will be significant as you work collaboratively with colleagues, including brokers and analytics teams, to identify and respond to client needs. You will also be responsible for managing client and industry data, analyzing the costs and benefits of risk transferred under reinsurance agreements through pricing analysis and dynamic risk modeling, and preparing client-ready presentations to communicate your analysis results effectively. Proactive workflow management and the ability to produce high-quality analyses within agreed timeframes are essential. You will also take the initiative on internal projects aimed at improving processes, products, or services, ensuring that clients' needs are met without resource overlap or contradiction.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients as requested by supervisor or brokers across various projects and research assignments.
  • Develop proficiencies in completing standard analyses and participate in advanced analyses as needed.
  • Become familiar with Aon's tools and approaches, contributing to their development.
  • Assist in pricing parameter updates and market research as required.
  • Work with colleagues to identify and respond to client needs and develop additional opportunities related to products and services.
  • Inventory and manage client and industry data effectively.
  • Analyze costs and benefits of risk transferred under reinsurance agreements via pricing analysis and dynamic risk modeling with limited guidance.
  • Prepare client-ready presentations to communicate analysis results to brokers and clients.
  • Manage workflow proactively and independently to ensure timely delivery of analyses.
  • Take initiative on internal projects to improve processes, products, or services.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure clients' needs are met without resource overlap.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Math, or Computer Science required.
  • 2 to 5 CAS Actuarial Exams completed and passed.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Programming experience, preferably in R.
