About The Position

The Reinsurance Controller at Zurich North America is responsible for overseeing reinsurance finance and operations, including reinsurance recoveries, asset management, and analytics. This role involves governance and control over various forms of reinsurance and requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders. The position is based in Schaumburg, IL, and reports to the Head of Finance Reinsurance, NA. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team, manage accounting issues, and ensure effective reporting and planning in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8 or more years of experience in the Reinsurance/Insurance/Audit/Accounting area within the Insurance industry.
• People management experience.

Responsibilities

• Acts as escalation point for emerging reinsurance accounting issues, ensuring proper coordination and analysis.
• Focuses on controls, processes, cross-team analytics, and ad hoc initiatives.
• Handles reinsurance reporting, budgeting, and planning.
• Collaborates with management and key stakeholders in operations.
• Leads and motivates a team to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Manages business travel and extended hours during peak periods as required.
• Passes applicable exams or licensing as required.
