About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Weekend Shifts is responsible for providing direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities. This role involves ensuring a safe and orderly living environment, maintaining open communication with staff, and empowering individuals to make their own life choices. The DSP will work on weekends, providing care and support during both day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with information gathering for Individual Centered Goals and other assessments.
• Help individuals with disabilities maintain a clean, safe, and orderly home by following safety and infection control procedures.
• Maintain and expand skills and knowledge relevant to providing high-quality support and services.
• Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings and apply the information to support individuals with disabilities.
• Maintain open communication and cooperative work effort with the Residential Program Manager and other staff.
• Support the Project Redirect Mission, Vision, and Core Values while empowering individuals with disabilities to direct their own life choices.
• Report and document routine and unusual events, including completing daily logs and accident reports.
• Assist individuals with disabilities in fiscal management, including completing ledgers and reconciling accounts.
• Ensure that individuals with disabilities exercise their rights and are treated with dignity and respect.
• Implement all ISP's and Behavior programs and provide feedback to the Residential Manager.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year of experience with persons with disabilities or as required by regulations.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess CPR and TME certification.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
