About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Relationship Banker (SAFE) for the National Branch Network within the Consumer, Small & Business Banking division. This role involves building relationships with customers, understanding their needs, and offering a full range of retail banking products and services. The position starts as a Relationship Banker LP (SAFE) for those not fully licensed, transitioning to a full Relationship Banker role upon successful completion of licensing requirements. The job emphasizes customer service, compliance with banking regulations, and collaboration with financial advisors and internal partners to enhance customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with customers and understand their needs.
  • Identify opportunities to offer Wells Fargo retail banking products and services.
  • Analyze business challenges related to full-service banking for affluent customers.
  • Present recommendations for resolving inquiries and service requests regarding accounts.
  • Open and service accounts within authorized limits and create follow-up plans.
  • Provide information to enhance customer experience through internal and external sources.
  • Leverage partners to connect customers with appropriate resources.
  • Partner with financial advisors to address investment or retirement needs.
  • Provide self-service digital banking options to customers.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of customer service experience or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of assessing and meeting customer needs or issue resolution experience.
  • 1+ year of building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 examinations.
  • State Insurance license(s).
  • Customer service focus with experience handling transactions across multiple systems.
  • Proficient in sourcing and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of book of business processes to manage customer needs.
  • Ability to be proactive and innovative in meeting customer needs.
  • Experience mentoring and peer-coaching.
  • Knowledge of retail compliance controls and risk management.
