About the position

As a Relationship Manager at Ascent Developer Solutions, you will play a crucial role in driving loan originations by managing the entire sales cycle and ensuring efficient workflows across various teams. Your primary focus will be on building and nurturing strong client relationships, facilitating a seamless experience from initial contact through loan funding, and collaborating with multiple divisions to transform lending opportunities into successful loans.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with divisions such as Credit, Operations, Construction, and Valuations to create and enhance a seamless process for clients.
  • Oversee the client onboarding process and set appropriate expectations for loan approval and closing.
  • Coordinate workflow between Credit, Underwriting, Construction, and Operations to ensure timely loan closures.
  • Lead periodic team huddles to manage opportunities in the Sales POD pipeline effectively.
  • Communicate the Ascent value proposition to existing and prospective borrowers.
  • Collaborate with Loan Officers and Credit teams on loan analysis, structuring, packaging, pricing, and borrower approval.
  • Structure loans for existing borrowers and assist Loan Officers in presenting new loan opportunities.
  • Understand individual loan portfolios and assist with portfolio issues to maintain performance.
  • Manage the collection of client financial reports and oversee project status updates.
  • Follow up with clients on loan payments and monitor interest reserves and servicing reports.
  • Maintain regular contact with borrowers to foster strong relationships.
  • Participate in networking activities, including trade shows and industry conferences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate/construction lending, underwriting, or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a California Real Estate license is required.
  • Proven experience in a sales environment with a strong focus on client relationship management.
  • Excellent customer service skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, and other computing systems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
