We are currently seeking a Relay Settings and Automation Engineer to join our team in Framingham, MA. This position plays a crucial role in leading and designing Relay Settings and Automation projects, interacting with various electric utility disciplines. As a core team member, you will be involved in solving challenging substation engineering problems, working closely with design engineers, and performing quality reviews. You will also have the opportunity to work directly with clients and collaborate with staff in remote office locations. Your assignments will encompass the full range of project planning, design, and construction support, ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) and data concentrators for substation and distribution automation devices, covering voltages from 4.16kV to 500kV. You will also configure communication systems for Ethernet and Serial communications in substations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Power System or Communication Engineering, particularly in high voltage electrical utility substation protection and control engineering. You will be expected to prepare one and three-line diagrams for substations, implement various communication protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 61850, and develop control and protection schemes, including schematics and wiring diagrams. Additionally, you will calculate relay settings for microprocessor relays from manufacturers like SEL, Alstom, GE, and ABB.
