About the position

The Reliability and Maintenance Manager plays a crucial role in the plant leadership team, overseeing all aspects of reliability and maintenance (R&M) needs. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating technical and personnel activities to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. The manager will engage with various levels of the organization to lead continuous improvement initiatives and manage the budget and supervision of the asset reliability function.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe and reliable equipment performance that meets or exceeds regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize asset availability to operate at designed quality and production standards.
  • Lead the total maintenance and reliability effort at the site with direct supervisory responsibility for R&M processes and maintenance support groups.
  • Administer all site maintenance shop policies and practices related to employees.
  • Review and recommend changes to upgrade facilities, equipment, or processes to maximize return on investment.
  • Coordinate with other department leaders to ensure efficient maintenance efforts and maintain open communication channels.
  • Participate in R&M assessments and manage internal assessments to evaluate effectiveness and develop improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, reliability personnel, and suppliers to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Conduct routine safety and R&M activities including inspections, audits, and visibility tours.
  • Champion the use of Predictive Maintenance (PdM) techniques to maximize equipment life and performance.
  • Manage the Failure Analysis (RCA) process for maintenance issues.
  • Identify and execute skill development needs for site reliability and maintenance personnel.
  • Manage and develop Reliability and Maintenance personnel by establishing career goals and providing coaching.
  • Lead annual action planning processes for R&M.
  • Implement culture change for continuous improvement in service and cost, and eliminate non-value-added tasks.
  • Create a rewarding environment that motivates employees to use their talents and energies to the full.
  • Develop plans to achieve World Class performance using Bonnell Aluminum's Reliability and Maintainability Processes.
  • Develop direct reports through performance management and coaching.
  • Be on-call as needed for specific operations or situations.
  • Travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree or relevant technical degree is required; Bachelor of Science in engineering is preferred.
  • 10 years in a maintenance-related field is required; previous reliability or maintenance management experience in a large manufacturing site is preferred.
  • 5 years of supervisory and budgetary experience is required.
  • Experience in leading culture change.
  • Ability to develop technician skillsets through training or apprenticeship programs.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance development and execution.
  • Ability to develop and execute short and long-term plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP, and CMMS software.
  • Broad knowledge of reliability and maintainability processes, technology, and systems.
  • Authentic leadership skills.

  • Effective communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills.
