About the position

The Reliability and Turnaround Leader is a critical role at Seaboard Energy, responsible for ensuring the success of turnaround events, outages, and equipment reliability programs across various locations. This position focuses on making turnaround events predictable and competitive by implementing best practices, driving improvements, and leading the reliability team to manage overall equipment reliability. The role also involves collaboration with senior management and various teams to ensure effective planning and execution of turnaround activities.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate making TAR events predictable and competitive across the Seaboard Energy circuit by assuring that the sites are following a generally accepted TAR process, sharing Best Practices, and driving change and improvement to current practices at all sites.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate the Seaboard Energy TAR Best Practice network, including scheduling meetings, building agendas, and coordinating presentations from vendors.
  • Work with the Senior Director of Engineering & Technical Services and Plant Management to ensure TAR Business Plans are well coordinated from a production planning and cash flow perspective.
  • Quantify and communicate the total economic impact of reliability using measures to drive performance and evaluate progress.
  • Work with the Operations Manager & Maintenance Managers to develop and maintain the 5-year TAR schedules and uphold reliability programs.
  • Coordinate an annual update before the yearly budget cycle.
  • Ensure that TAR Assurance Reviews are properly resourced and focused on elements that can make a material difference in performance.
  • Support field execution efforts during events, monitoring productivity and manpower.
  • Develop and facilitate contractor onboarding processes and training.
  • Ensure effective cost and scheduling controls for TAR transparency to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement target metrics for cost and schedule.
  • Create sustained focus on root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) processes.
  • Oversee proactive reliability studies and analyze metrics to identify asset performance trends.
  • Collaboration with Engineering and Maintenance to ensure relevant engineering standards are followed for equipment repairs and upgrades.
  • Establish and maintain the team's focus, aligning project strategy with business and operations key drivers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum twenty (20) years' experience in a refinery or chemical plant.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a turnaround maintenance function, preferably in a leadership position.
  • Experience with transformation of turnaround processes and implementation of best practices.
  • Five (5) or more years' experience in a leadership or supervisor role.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards, Primavera Project Planner (P6), and Microsoft Excel/Word.
  • Proficiency in API & ASME Standards.
  • Ability to work extended shifts, nights, weekends, or holidays as necessary.
