About the position

The Reliability Engineer position at MAHLE focuses on the AC eCompressor Design and Development Engineering Team, specifically aimed at modeling and enhancing product reliability. This role is critical in assessing the reliability of current compressor designs and developing robust reliability models through empirical testing and physics theory. The engineer will be responsible for creating accelerated life tests for compressors, which are essential for predicting product lifespan and performance under various conditions. In addition to reliability modeling, the engineer will contribute to both current and future compressor designs, ensuring that reliability improvements are integrated into the design process. This involves working closely with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models to understand compressor loadings and stress, which is vital for identifying potential failure points and enhancing product durability. The role also includes supporting validation, launch, and production problem-solving activities, which are crucial for maintaining product quality and performance standards. Furthermore, the Reliability Engineer will participate in innovation initiatives, product cost reduction efforts, and quality improvement projects, making this position integral to the overall success of the engineering team and the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality automotive solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment of the reliability of current compressor designs
  • Develop compressor reliability models through empirical testing and physics theory

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering discipline is required
  • 2 or more years of experience in Reliability Engineering is required
  • Demonstrated background in Reliability Studies, Weibull Analyses, FMEA, etc. is required

Nice-to-haves

  • Product or design engineering experience is preferred
  • Statistics software experience (Minitab, etc.) is preferred
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software (NX, SolidWorks, etc.) is preferred
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is preferred
  • Automotive industry experience is preferred

Benefits
