Molex, a leader in the optical industry, is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our team in Carlsbad, CA. This position is pivotal in ensuring the reliability of our optical products, particularly optical cross-connect switches, which are developed and manufactured in Fremont, CA. The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all reliability-related activities during the research and development phase of our optical products tailored for the telecom and datacom industries. This role requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, including sales and marketing, product line managers, and various engineering teams, to ensure that our fiber optical products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. In this role, you will cooperate closely with the development team to monitor the reliability validation plan of new products, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards. You will plan and conduct Telcordia testing across all product lines, ensuring that all lab and test equipment is properly maintained and calibrated. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you perform database maintenance for all tests and results, analyze data for trends using JMP software, and conduct physics of failure mechanisms. Additionally, you will perform accelerated life testing to determine lifetime calculations and predictions, conduct Design for Reliability (DfR) exercises, and work with project leaders to identify design risks from a reliability perspective. The Reliability Engineer will also develop reliability assessment plans for product lifecycle in real application conditions, assist engineers in failure analysis during product development and manufacturing stages, and write reliability reports in accordance with Telcordia and other standards. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and performance of our innovative optical solutions, ensuring that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our global clients in the telecom and datacom sectors.
