About the position

Boise Cascade Wood Products has an opening for a Reliability Engineer located near our Western Oregon facilities in/around Medford, OR. Approximately 50%+ travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the implementation of the Wood Products reliability strategy across manufacturing operations.
  • Lead on-site growth of reliability concepts to improve the maintenance organization.
  • Design and implement long-term continuous improvement systems.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of equipment standards, processes, and work practices.
  • Facilitate RCAs/FMEAs and solution implementation as needed.
  • Conduct equipment criticality ranking.
  • Build BOMs for equipment and centerline equipment.
  • Optimize preventative maintenance.
  • Track and report performance against desired results.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering, reliability, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience and a demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated and proven success in a maintenance department leadership role.
  • Ability to comprehend mechanical, electrical, and reliability systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to understand and lead cultural change efforts.
  • Understanding of industrial costs and controls.
  • Some travel required, as needed to support assigned responsibilities.

  • Prefer a candidate who lives within a commutable distance to our Western Oregon facilities in/around Medford, Oregon.
  • Relocation assistance considered for qualified candidates.
  • More than 10 years of experience in related job function.
  • Experience working with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as Maximo.
  • Specific knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and associated tools.
  • Candidates with 2-5 years of operational experience to complement their reliability experience will be given strong consideration.
  • Familiarity with equipment in the wood products manufacturing industry is a bonus.
  • Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) or other lubrication, vibration and tomography certifications are a bonus.
