About the position

The Reliability Engineer at Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties, LLC is responsible for providing engineering leadership to enhance equipment reliability at the Manistee, MI production facility. This role involves analyzing reliability problems, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing predictive maintenance technologies to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the RCA program for equipment issues.
  • Help define PdM technologies for critical equipment to address failure modes.
  • Monitor and act on condition monitoring results from the PdM group.
  • Develop and approve PM Optimization mitigation strategies with PM Planners.
  • Develop the Asset Risk Management Strategy - Equipment Maintenance Plan.
  • Manage the PdM/NDT process for early identification and elimination of asset defects.
  • Adjust the Equipment Maintenance Plan based on asset failure data analysis.
  • Ensure data integrity in the CMMS within the assigned area.
  • Support monitoring and improvement of MTBF and MTTR on production equipment.
  • Perform cost/benefit analysis to set task frequency.
  • Include Condition Monitoring information in turnaround master plan decision making.
  • Assist Maintenance Engineer with reliability analysis to improve machinery performance.
  • Perform statistical analysis on machinery failure data and work order closing codes.
  • Develop procedures for verification of an asset's fitness for return to service.
  • Create operational procedure changes to mitigate future system failures.
  • Design and manage the asset criticality database and failure modes criticality database.
  • Develop and utilize specific metrics for process, system, asset, and component reliability.
  • Support new equipment Design for Reliability.
  • Review and develop machinery modification plans for single-point failure scenarios.
  • Perform quantitative analysis on new projects/strategies to determine viability based on corporate values and standards.
  • Analyze process and failure data to identify the need for improved craft skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in an industrial reliability maintenance role preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Project management experience and good organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
