About the position

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for enhancing plant reliability through problem-solving and the application of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) techniques. This role supports the maintenance department in planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance activities, while also leading process modifications for Roofing and Granule operations. The engineer will analyze data, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions to improve efficiencies and reduce downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and solve plant reliability issues using WCM techniques.
  • Support maintenance department in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement countermeasures for downtime losses.
  • Analyze data to prepare reports and support continuous improvement of reliability.
  • Revise and maintain existing processes and develop WCM initiatives.
  • Lead Yellow Belt Breakdown projects to become certified in the Reliability pillar.
  • Document all projects and systems to WCM and PMO standards.
  • Prepare and maintain data sheets, wiring, P&ID, flow charts, and Bill of Materials for plant equipment.
  • Improve Professional Maintenance status of equipment using WCM techniques.
  • Collaborate with resources to develop a Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Support Autonomous Maintenance through training and coaching of Operators.
  • Develop and implement standard operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Support the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Plan, evaluate, organize, and implement maintenance and repair activities.
  • Assist in automation training and troubleshooting for technicians.
  • Enforce good housekeeping practices and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of applied professional experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years' experience as a Reliability Engineer or similar (preferred).
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong influencing skills for change management.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with a CMMS (SAP preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with P&ID, Equipment Layout Drawings, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to design experiments and provide statistical analysis.
  • Ability to diagnose and prioritize opportunities for savings and throughput improvement.
  • Working knowledge of PM technologies and drafting software (AutoCAD LT).
  • CMRP Certification or equivalent.
