About the position

The Reliability Engineer position at United Launch Alliance (ULA) is responsible for performing reliability analyses for all Launch Vehicle Families. This role involves modeling, allocations, predictions, and failure mode assessments, ensuring the reliability of launch systems through detailed analysis and collaboration with various engineering teams. The engineer will engage in systems engineering activities, including requirements development, risk management, and customer communication, while also participating in technical decision-making and program execution planning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform reliability analyses for all Launch Vehicle Families.
  • Develop and review Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) spreadsheets.
  • Update reliability analysis for all programs based on design evolution.
  • Attend and present at weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Execute systems engineering activities including requirements development and risk management.
  • Proactively communicate with Program and Mission Management on emerging issues.
  • Ensure input data/resources are coordinated and documented in the project schedule.
  • Engage and get approvals of technical authorities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering and Integration processes and tools.
  • Experience performing requirements development, integration, and verification management.
  • Knowledge of existing and evolving launch system requirements.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to resolve technical and programmatic issues.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in aerospace structural analysis, propulsion analysis, electrical analysis, software development, and system analysis.
  • Experience with system level design reviews or major gate reviews.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with avionics or electrical engineering.
  • Experience generating, allocating, and verifying requirements for Aerospace applications.
  • Experience with FMEAs, Fault Trees, Fishbones, or reliability analysis.
  • Experience with SAPHIRE.
  • Previous experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams with an emphasis on launch systems.
