About the position

The Reliability Engineer at Ecovyst will leverage advanced knowledge and technical expertise to enhance process and asset reliability. This role focuses on continuous improvement through the identification and elimination of defects, partnering with Operations and Maintenance to reduce production losses and high maintenance costs. The position emphasizes long-term strategic implementation of reliability improvements, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, design, and installation of predictive maintenance programs and technology applications.
• Analyze maintenance data to identify trends in equipment performance affecting safety and costs.
• Drive the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Asset Utilization and MTBF.
• Conduct Failure Mode & Effects Analysis and Root Cause Analysis on significant equipment failures.
• Manage the plant Mechanical Integrity (MI) Program to ensure compliance with state and federal codes.
• Ensure MI inspection data is accurately set up in the GE-APM database and analyzed.
• Perform PM Optimization reviews to prevent premature failures of plant equipment.
• Work with Subject Matter Experts to develop Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) models.
• Develop strategies to reduce risks associated with equipment failures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant maintenance and reliability experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or refinery production plant.
• Experience in implementing preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with GE-APM database or similar maintenance management systems.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the chemical industry.
