About the position
The Relief Driver - CDL (B) at Republic Services is responsible for the safe operation of a collection truck, ensuring prompt and courteous waste removal services for customers. This role involves adhering to safety standards, completing vehicle inspections, and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory requirements while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy.
- Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and to the disposal site.
- Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely service.
- Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers according to departmental procedures.
- Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials and clean up spills as necessary.
- Complete required route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports (VCRs), and other reports.
- Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for timely customer service.
- Participate in the Company's ReSOP program and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver's license with air brakes endorsement.
- Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
- Good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Good time management skills to ensure responsibilities are completed efficiently and safely.
- Ability to adhere to Company policies and promote safety standards.
