About the position

AWARE, Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Relief Substitute Teacher for Early Head Start in Helena, Montana. This position is crucial in providing high-quality care and education to children aged six weeks to three years. The ideal candidate will assist in guiding the implementation of a comprehensive child development program that aligns with the Head Start definition of curriculum across various program options and settings. The role emphasizes the importance of creating an environment where children can develop personal relationships, experiment, make choices, solve problems, and cultivate age-appropriate social and self-help skills. In this position, you will practice sound principles of child and parent education, ensuring that both children and their families are supported in their growth and development. You will also be involved in planning and participating in parent education and involvement activities, fostering a collaborative relationship between the program and the families we serve. As a clinical coordinator, you will play a key role in developing and implementing service and individual treatment plans tailored to the needs of the children and families in our care. Responsibilities

  • Assist in guiding the implementation of a comprehensive child development program that meets the Head Start definition of curriculum for children aged six weeks to three years.
  • Practice theories and sound principles of child and parent education in a nurturing environment.
  • Facilitate the development of personal relationships, problem-solving skills, and age-appropriate social and self-help skills among children.
  • Plan and participate in parent education and involvement activities.
  • Act as a clinical coordinator in developing and implementing service and individual treatment plans.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED/HiSET required.
  • Minimum Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or willingness to obtain it immediately upon hire.
  • One year of experience in a licensed early childhood facility is required.
  • Preferred: AA/AS or BA/BS Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field.
  • 60 hours of childcare training is required.
  • Experience with an evidence-based infant/toddler curriculum is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start programs is beneficial.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a licensed early childhood facility beyond the minimum requirement.
  • Advanced degrees in Early Childhood Education or related fields.
