About the position

The position involves supporting the Chaplains, volunteers, and religious programming within a correctional institution, ensuring a humane and secure environment for inmates. The role includes maintaining ecclesiastical documents, assisting in the preparation of religious materials, and supervising inmate activities related to the religious program. The incumbent is also responsible for clerical duties and maintaining the security of the institution.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chaplains, volunteers, and religious programming of all faiths in the institution.
• Maintain records, ecclesiastical documents, materials, and references for the institution's religious groups or Life Connections Program.
• Assist in the preparation of devotional and religious educational materials and audio-visual displays.
• Work with the chaplaincy or Life Connections team to manage logistical support for the religious program.
• Supervise day-to-day inmate activities and programs in the religious program area.
• Perform clerical duties including typing, filing, proofreading, and recording meeting minutes.
• Serve on planning committees and assist with the administration of the inmate pass system.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GL-06 level in federal service.
• Experience in maintaining and controlling department records and documents.
• Experience in clerical duties, including preparing and typing correspondence.
• Ability to communicate in writing and orally.
• Ability to organize workflow and work with data on the computer.
