About the position

The Remittance Processor role at Commerce Bank is a part-time position focused on leading the daily processing of account receivables while ensuring high standards for production and quality. This position supports Lockbox Remittance Processing services, which includes the expedited collection and processing of various types of payments and correspondence for customers. The role requires working on weekends, specifically Saturday and Sunday, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance with processing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily processing of account receivables.
• Apply customer rules to perform desk-related duties including credit card processing and responding to emails.
• Meet department production and quality goals by processing multiple accounts accurately.
• Complete data entry item processing for scanned images and manual keying.
• Process Protected Health Information (PHI) and card payments in compliance with HIPAA and PCI standards.
• Read and interpret unique customer instructions for remittance processing.
• Operate, clean, and maintain processing equipment.
• Provide secondary support for document and package disposal.
• Cross-train and deliver results in other areas of the department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 1+ years of payment processing or related experience in a production environment required.
• Ability to understand customer instructions and follow department guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
• Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to lift and move mail trays weighing up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours may be required.
