About the position

The Big Data Architect III position is a remote opportunity based in Richardson, TX, focusing on the development and maintenance of Anaplan models to support financial planning and analysis processes. The role requires collaboration with finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Anaplan solutions. The architect will design and build complex calculations, workflows, and manage data imports and exports within the Anaplan platform. Testing and validation of Anaplan models are crucial to ensure their accuracy and reliability, and the architect will provide technical guidance and support to junior Anaplan developers. In addition to model development, the architect will monitor and troubleshoot issues with Anaplan models, ensuring timely resolutions. Staying updated with Anaplan platform updates and new features is essential, as is conducting user training and documentation to promote user adoption and self-service within the organization. Continuous improvement of Anaplan models and processes is expected to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The architect will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Anaplan with other finance systems and tools, ensuring a seamless flow of information across platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and validation of Anaplan models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior Anaplan developers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Anaplan development.
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles.
  • Certified Anaplan Model Builder.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Anaplan development, including building models, creating dashboards, and implementing security.
  • In-depth understanding of finance and accounting principles and processes.
  • Proficiency in working with large and complex data sets within Anaplan.
  • Ability to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into Anaplan solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Anaplan Calculation Language (ACL), SQL, and Excel VBA.
  • Experience in integrating Anaplan with other systems and tools.
  • Knowledge of best practices and industry standards in Anaplan development and finance domain.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience in leading Anaplan implementation projects.
  • Anaplan Certified Solution Architect or Anaplan Certified Master Anaplanner.
