About the position

The Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role in a major digital technology initiative for a large DOD government contractor, focusing on the development of a new foundational infrastructure across all divisions. This position will specifically address the cloud aspect of the infrastructure, contributing to network, data center, identity management, and modernization efforts to enhance the digital thread throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Focus on the Cloud aspect of the foundational infrastructure project.
• Engage with program and capture leadership to promote Cloud Solutions and define specific capabilities for program implementations.
• Create and manage Azure and AWS platforms, with a preference for Azure.
• Work with automation tools, particularly Jenkins pipelines.
• Utilize scripting languages such as PowerShell, Ansible, Packer, and Terraform.
• Develop technical documentation, including technical implementation guides.
• Monitor cloud environments using tools like Datadog or similar solutions.
• Deploy modern technology in customized IT environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technology and infrastructure, specifically in Cloud Engineering.
• In-depth experience with Azure and AWS platforms, preferably stronger in Azure.
• Familiarity with DoD security configuration requirements and hardening procedures.
• Cloud certification in either Azure or AWS is required.
• Solid foundational knowledge of networking, security, Windows, and Linux principles.
• Experience with agile/scrum tools such as Jira, Git, and Artifactory.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Rancher.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with high-performance computing technologies.
• Amazon, Cisco, Microsoft, or other IT infrastructure-related certifications.
• Experience with automation and scripting languages.
