About the position

The Fully Remote Contact Center Agent serves as a vital point of contact for individuals seeking federal assistance, providing support through a call center environment. The role involves conducting scripted interviews, entering data into FEMA's database, and offering referrals to secondary support organizations. Agents must demonstrate excellent communication skills and professionalism while managing calls efficiently and adhering to strict guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a direct point of contact for individuals registering for federal assistance.
  • Conduct calls with patience, tact, and courtesy to determine needs and provide instructions or referrals.
  • Enter information into FEMA's Windows-based computer database as required.
  • Provide phone numbers and agency referrals for applicable secondary support organizations.
  • Perform additional duties assigned based on FEMA's level of support to the event.
  • Attend all scheduled shift meetings to receive event-specific information prior to beginning the shift.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and customer service skills in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to manage a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
  • Must have a high-speed internet connection with specified minimum speeds.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $21-22/hr.
