About the position

The Fully Remote Contact Center Agent serves as a vital point of contact for individuals seeking federal assistance. This role involves handling inquiries related to registrations, providing referrals to relief programs, and ensuring a high level of customer service. Agents are expected to conduct calls with professionalism, enter data accurately into FEMA's database, and follow specific protocols while assisting disaster survivors.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a direct point of contact for individuals registering for federal assistance.
  • Answer questions about prior registrations and provide referrals to relief programs.
  • Conduct calls with patience, tact, and courtesy to determine needs and provide instructions or referrals.
  • Enter information into FEMA's Windows-based computer database as required.
  • Provide phone numbers and agency referrals for secondary support organizations.
  • Perform additional duties assigned based on FEMA's level of support to the event.
  • Attend all scheduled shift meetings to receive event-specific information before beginning shifts.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and customer service skills in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to manage a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
  • Must have a high-speed internet connection with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $21-22 per hour.
