Remote Data Center Construction Estimator

About the position

The Remote Data Center Construction Estimator role at Actalent involves assisting in the development of project estimates for connectivity infrastructure, including Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) systems. The position focuses on budget and cost management, supporting the preparation of detailed estimating reports, and maintaining estimating documentation for future reference.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the development of project estimates for connectivity infrastructure, including OSP and ISP.
• Supporting Type-F design estimates, including original budget creation and QSP refreshes.
• Contributing to the establishment and updating of cost libraries for labor, materials, and productivity rates.
• Assisting in the reconciliation of estimates with actual project costs to improve accuracy.
• Supporting the preparation of detailed estimating reports and summaries for stakeholders.
• Helping maintain estimating documentation and databases for future reference.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of relevant, hands-on experience in bid analysis, Quantity Surveying or estimating for large-scale data center, connectivity, or technology infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of connectivity systems, including OSP, ISP, general systems, and carrier systems.
• Expertise in bid evaluation processes and cost estimating methodologies.
• Familiarity with vendor market trends in the connectivity industry.
• Proficiency in data management tools, reporting software, and advanced Excel or database systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
