About the position

The Diagnostic Assessor at OhioGuidestone plays a crucial role in evaluating clients' mental health needs and providing diagnostic assessments. This part-time position involves engaging with clients and their families, formulating diagnoses based on DSM-5 criteria, and recommending appropriate treatment options. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and productivity while working in various settings, including telehealth and in-person meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current client and family functioning and explain the mental health services of OhioGuidestone.
  • Complete mental health diagnostic assessments and formulate a diagnosis according to the DSM-5 criteria.
  • Maintain current knowledge of DSM-5 diagnoses and recommend treatment options and level of care.
  • Perform related administrative responsibilities, including reviewing and completing reports and responding to communications within a 24-hour period.
  • Attend various trainings and meetings, and communicate with other agencies regarding required paperwork and compliance.
  • Obtain necessary documents, information, and signatures from parents and clients for assessments and evaluations.
  • Summarize major treatment issues and expected outcomes, recommending case disposition to OhioGuidestone programs.
  • Meet with clients virtually and at all OhioGuidestone locations, maintaining minimal productivity levels and confidentiality.
  • Provide a minimum of three available times weekly for diagnostic evaluation appointments.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and may be involved in planning and implementing special events or projects.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Ohio LSW or LPC required; LISW or LPCC preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), preferably Evolv.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record and valid insurance.
  • Strong knowledge of human behavior, psychological research methods, and treatment of behavioral disorders.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in community behavioral health care.
  • Familiarity with telehealth services.
