About the position
The Remote Elementary Math Competition Teacher at Think Academy US is responsible for teaching math concepts to students in grades 1 to 4, specifically for the Math Kangaroo competition. This role involves preparing engaging lessons, conducting evaluations, grading homework, and maintaining communication with students and parents. The position is designed for enthusiastic educators who are passionate about teaching and can work flexibly in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and teaching online math classes for students on a weekly basis (7-10 classes = approximately 12-20 hours/week)
- Participating in paid teaching assistant work by attending classes and learning from experienced lead teachers' methods
- Conducting 1-on-1 evaluations with new students to help them enroll in the correct classes (5-10 hours/week)
- Grading homework and communicating with parents weekly to update them on students' learning progress and areas for improvement (5-7 hours/week)
- Completing other work assigned by the teaching management team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher; all majors are welcome, though Education or STEM-related majors are preferred
- Prior experience with Math Kangaroo is a plus
- Availability and willingness to work full-time from Wednesday to Sunday starting November 2024
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with parents
- Passionate about teaching and responsible
