About the position

The Leave of Absence Administrator provides advanced HR leave of absence administration within a remote service/contact center environment. This role acts as a Subject Matter Expert, ensuring compliance with state and federal leave laws and Trinity Health's policies. Responsibilities include managing leave requests, coordinating return-to-work processes, and providing consultation to managers and colleagues. The position also involves developing efficient processes, training HR Service Center Representatives, and maintaining strong customer service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Administer leave of absence programs and ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies.
  • Identify leave types and approve or deny requests for leave.
  • Calculate and monitor leave duration and coordinate return to work processes.
  • Provide consultation and guidance on policies and procedures to managers and colleagues.
  • Develop sustainable and efficient processes to support customers within service level agreements.
  • Market services and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Supervise and train HR Service Center Representatives on new processes and policies.
  • Evaluate and determine employee eligibility and leave history within required time frames.
  • Communicate approvals, denials, and important information regarding leaves to employees.
  • Conduct research to ensure data completeness and resolve issues objectively.
  • Facilitate meetings with HR and cross-functional teams to provide leave of absence data and recommendations.
  • Maintain case management technology to log case issues and notes accurately.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources and Health & Welfare Benefits implementation.
  • 4-5 years of progressive experience in a Disability Analyst/Coordinator/Specialist role or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance background, and Benefit Administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR law, FMLA, ADAAA, and Workers' Compensation regulations.
  • Experience managing leaves through technology solutions.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and familiarity with Workday, Kronos, and PeopleSoft preferred.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
