About the position

The Senior COBOL Programmer will work closely with customers to develop, test, document, and implement software programs based on COBOL standards. This role involves modifying existing COBOL applications, fixing software defects, and ensuring proper documentation of changes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify COBOL applications (real-time, batch)
• Fix software defects in existing applications
• Document changes made to applications
• Implement applications based on COBOL standards
• Collaborate with customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions

Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in developing, testing, implementing, and documenting applications using COBOL and mainframe job control language
• IRS Minimum Background Investigation Clearance
• Experience working on application development in an Agile environment
• Working experience with DMS, COBOL, TIP, ECL, and other modernization tools

Nice-to-haves

• IBM z/OS mainframe or Unisys ClearPath Dorado OS 2200
• Programming Languages/Tools COBOL, OS 2200 Executive Control Language (ECL)
• Development Tools InfoConnect, Eclipse, CMplus/SQuA
