Remote Mechancial Design Engineer

About the position

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the engineering team of a top client. This role can be performed remotely, but candidates local to Greenville, SC are also encouraged to apply. The position focuses on creating qualification standards, managing equipment purchases and installations, and leading qualifications from inception to closure. Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Creating Qualification standards in alignment with Global Supply Chain and Engineering
• Managing dates and scope for equipment purchases, installation, and qualification
• Attending/Facilitating Kaizens and Roadmaps to support the capacity ramp
• Leading qualifications from inception to closure, including parts and special processes
• Applying knowledge of design and manufacturing to enhance the qualification process
• Identifying and implementing qualification cost out opportunities
• Providing regional and global shop support
• Cultivating a positive working environment and morale, driving urgency and quality

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 2-8 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role focused on design and project management
• Strong background with CAD Software, preferably NX Unigraphics
• Strong background in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with Ansys, PLM (Siemens preferred), and MS Office Suite
