About the position

The Microprocessor (MPU) Field Application Engineer at Insight Global is responsible for delivering exceptional technical support to customers, driving design wins, and collaborating with sales teams to enhance product adoption. This role involves leading proof of concept initiatives, synthesizing customer insights, and establishing value propositions for system solutions. The engineer will also educate partners on new technologies and develop a deep understanding of target application spaces.

Responsibilities

• Deliver premium technical support in content and time to assigned customers
• Drive design wins in target accounts and technology
• Lead proof of concept, solution design, and demonstrations
• Synthesize customer and competitive insights to improve product definition and roadmaps
• Establish the value proposition of system solutions relative to competition
• Build relationships with sales team members, business lines, partners, and customers
• Analyze customer's technical objectives using relevant data gathering techniques
• Assist in educating sales and distribution partners on new technologies and product features
• Develop system level knowledge of target application spaces

Requirements

• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of development engineering or applications support of SoC based embedded systems
• Field Application Engineering experience in the semiconductor industry
• Knowledge of hardware interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, SDIO, Modern DDR, SPI, MIPI, USB
• Hands-on knowledge of Ethernet datapath acceleration or graphics/video subsystems
• Knowledge in embedded Linux: kernel and user-space and uboot environments
• Ability to read, understand and review schematics and provide design recommendations
• Ability to diagnose and resolve customer issues using methodical debug steps
• Experience with custom board bring-up debug activities

• Willingness to travel for customer meetings, development support, and trainings
• Proven track record of quickly learning new technologies
