About the position

The Remote Network Engineer will support the enterprise rollout of new technology for a financial services company, focusing on replacing legacy Cisco iOS routers with Fortinet routers. The role requires flexibility to work during the first shift in Eastern-Pacific Standard time zones, and involves troubleshooting, engineering deployments, and coordinating with onsite technicians for technology refreshes.

Responsibilities

• Support the enterprise rollout of new technology for financial services.
• Replace legacy Cisco iOS routers with Fortinet routers.
• Troubleshoot and support CLI and Cloud interfaces for Fortinet products.
• Write and review Network Change Documents and follow documented processes.
• Coordinate with SmartHands and onsite technicians for technology refreshes.
• Test network strengths and ensure consistent device connectivity.
• Update and write BOM's, MOP's, SOP's, and site-to-site materials.

Requirements

• Previous Fortinet engineering experience using cloud interface.
• Router and Switch troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to write Network Change Documents and follow documented processes.
• Deep knowledge of OSI layers 1-3.
• Experience engineering deployments with ATM devices.
• Background in remotely removing and replacing routers.
• Experience supporting and coordinating with onsite technicians.
• Ability to troubleshoot signal strength and perform UAT tests.
• Experience with ATM cellular, SIM, iOS, and CATos engineering.
• Network device deployment experience with cloud-based config technologies.
