About the position

The Remote Nurse Reviewer is responsible for supporting the development and coding of benefit plans within a Fortune 100 healthcare company. This role involves collaboration with a team of nurses, certified coders, and business analysts to ensure accurate coding and compliance with benefit plan language. The position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work location, provided the candidate has a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office environment.

Responsibilities

• Review benefit plan language to determine appropriate codes
• Evaluate peer coding decisions and provide input to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Facilitate discussions with team members to finalize coding documentation
• Analyze audit results and make necessary adjustments to maintain coding accuracy
• Actively participate in project meetings, providing insights and feedback on coding processes

Requirements

• Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant license
• Registered Nurse with 5+ years of experience in healthcare
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience in medical coding, including coding methodologies and processes
• A reliable high-speed internet connection
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• Private, quiet, and distraction-free workspace in a room with a closed-door

Nice-to-haves
