About the position
The Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Attorney will be responsible for managing personal injury claims from initial client consultation through negotiation and settlement. This role requires a strong commitment to client service and justice, with a focus on achieving successful outcomes for clients. The attorney will work remotely and collaborate with a legal team to develop effective legal strategies and maintain accurate case records.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to discuss personal injury claims and gather necessary information.
- Analyze medical records, accident reports, and witness statements to determine liability.
- Communicate and negotiate with insurance companies and opposing attorneys regarding settlement offers.
- Prepare and draft demand letters and organize evidence for cases.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to educate them about the legal process.
- Explore mediation or arbitration methods as part of alternative dispute resolution.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to develop effective legal strategies.
- Collaborate with the legal team, medical professionals, and experts to manage cases.
- Maintain accurate case records and track important deadlines.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 1 year of plaintiff personal injury experience.
- Strong understanding of personal injury laws.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases.
- Proficient in legal research, case management software, and Microsoft Office.
- Empathetic and client-focused.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in pre-litigation personal injury work preferred.
- Aderant Total Office experience is a major plus.
- Bi-lingual/Spanish preferred.
