About the position
The Privacy Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Department, providing services under the direction of the Privacy COE Leader. This position is responsible for managing a variety of routine to moderately complex projects, ensuring Electronic Health Record (EHR) monitoring, and addressing access issues. The role emphasizes collaboration, innovative problem-solving, and continuous improvement in privacy practices across the health system.
Responsibilities
- Handle routine to moderately complex privacy matters and projects.
- Collaborate within the Privacy Center of Expertise to resolve EHR access issues.
- Perform periodic assessments to measure risk and compliance levels throughout Trinity Health.
- Utilize multiple system applications for analysis, reporting, and educational material development.
- Manage and implement small-scale projects and initiatives related to privacy compliance.
- Develop and provide training sessions on privacy contract policies and procedures.
- Prepare access monitoring documentation for various committees and stakeholders.
- Monitor and audit EHR access, investigating inappropriate access findings with HR partners.
- Assist in implementing new projects and procedures due to regulatory changes or new privacy initiatives.
- Research and compile information for operational projects, providing detailed summaries and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of four years of healthcare experience, including Integrity and Audit Services.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, EMR technology, and database utilization.
- Experience with EMR systems, particularly EPIC.

- Compliance, Audit, and/or Privacy Certification.
