About the position
The Remote Profee OB/GYN Coder II position is an advanced coding role focused on professional fee coding for OB/GYN encounters. This senior-level position requires at least three years of experience in multiple specialties, with a strong emphasis on OB/GYN coding. The coder will be responsible for reviewing documentation, assigning appropriate codes, resolving edits, and collaborating with clinic supervisors and providers to address coding issues. The role also involves working with the Revenue Management Team to ensure accurate coding practices.
Responsibilities
- Review documentation to assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 diagnosis codes.
- Resolve edits in work queues related to charge review, claim edits, and follow-ups.
- Review denials for possible corrected claims or appeals.
- Collaborate with clinic supervisors and providers to resolve coding issues and questions.
- Work with the Revenue Management Team to address coding issues and concerns.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
- Three years of recent Professional Fee OB/GYN Coding and abstracting experience.
- Experience with EPIC and Encoder Pro preferred.
- CCS-P, COC, CPC Credentials required.
- Technical savvy and some remote experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Five years of Professional Fee OB/GYN Coding experience.
- Profee E/M Credential CPMA is highly preferred.
