About the position

A global software development client is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to join their team. The QA engineer will manage exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. This role involves designing and implementing tests, debugging, and defining corrective actions. The QA engineer will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. Additionally, the engineer will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards. The ideal candidate will be able to build consistent and efficient tests and deliver them on time. An engineering background is essential, along with a passion for providing end-to-end solutions to software quality problems. The pay rate for this position ranges from $50 to $52 per hour. Benefit packages for this role will commence on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as options for HSA, FSA, and DCFSA accounts. Employees will also have access to a 401k retirement account with employer matching. Furthermore, employees in this role are entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Responsibilities

  • Manage exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.
  • Design and implement tests, debug, and define corrective actions.
  • Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g., defect densities and open defect counts).
  • Monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.
  • Build consistent and efficient tests and deliver them on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Significant experience working in software development teams and using software QA methodologies and tools.
  • Solid experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Significant experience with both white box and black box testing.
  • Experience with automated testing tools.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and scripting.
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development principles.
