About the position

We are seeking an experienced Mobile Developer to join a leader in the Pet Diagnostics and Healthcare industry. As a global company, this organization's mission is to better the lives and wellbeing of pets. This position is part of the R&D organization, focusing on the hardware and software used by veterinarians and other practice staff on a daily basis. The team works on a platform used globally that helps veterinarians and staff manage patient diagnostic data, including test results, patient history, trend analysis, and more. In this role, you will collaborate with another Senior Developer on a team that includes an Automation Engineer, Scrum Master, Product Owner, and UX Designer. The two developers will work closely together to focus on app modernization, specifically moving the backend to the mobile app. One of the initial tasks will involve working with the core backend team to review the mobile services and plan how to transition them to the mobile domain. We are looking for someone with extensive experience (7+ years) in Mobile Development, and at least 3 years of experience with Flutter. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for Backend for Frontend (BFF) development using Java and creating APIs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to modernize the mobile application.
• Work with the core backend team to review mobile services and plan migration to mobile.
• Develop and implement BFF (Backend for Frontend) solutions using Java.
• Create and maintain APIs for mobile application functionality.
• Participate in architecture discussions and design strategies for backend service migration.
• Utilize Codemagic for CI/CD processes in mobile development.
• Implement notification systems using Airship for mobile applications.
• Monitor application performance and reliability using Datadog and AWS.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with Mobile Development.
• 3+ years of experience with Flutter development.
• Experience with Backend for Frontend (BFF) using Java.
• Proficient in API development.
• Ability to work during EST hours.
• Experience in designing strategies for migrating backend services to mobile applications.
• Familiarity with Codemagic for CI/CD processes.
• Experience with Airship for mobile notifications.
• Knowledge of Datadog and AWS.
