About the position

The Senior Tax Manager (Partnership/Pass-Through) is a key role within a top CPA firm, responsible for overseeing tax returns and planning for partnership and pass-through entities. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while ensuring that employees have access to growth opportunities and a supportive work-life balance. The role involves direct communication with clients and management, as well as leading the department in software and process knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Review and manage tax returns, extensions, and tax planning calculations for partnership returns and pass-through entities.
• Review financial statements and perform accounting and adjusting entries, bank reconciliations, and client books and records.
• Review complex tax planning projections for estimated tax liability.
• Manage and monitor client deliverables and due dates.
• Conduct complex tax research and prepare memorandums outlining findings and conclusions.
• Respond to IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notices.
• Communicate directly with existing clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax matters.
• Lead department in knowledge of software, processes, and workflows.

Requirements

• CPA certification required.
• At least 5+ years of management experience in Public Accounting.
• Partnership return experience required.
• LLM (Master of Laws) or Juris Doctorate preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in tax planning for various industries including Real Estate, Construction, Manufacturing, Technology, Private Equity, and E-Commerce.
