About the position

As a Civil/Structural Engineer P.E., you'll have the flexibility to work remotely while being responsible for serving as a technical expert and subject matter authority for civil and structural engineering on capital projects. Your role will involve ensuring that designs, standards, and procedures comply with regulatory requirements and align with global and regional engineering guidelines. You will propose and implement solutions to enhance project performance, cost-effectiveness, and safety. In this position, you will ensure consistent compliance of civil, structural, and architectural engineering standards, policies, and procedures with regulatory standards and alignment with Cargill's global and regional standards. You will be tasked with providing civil, structural, and architectural engineering support required for build projects, contributing to safety and engineering recommendations to enhance performance, cost, efficiency, and schedule. You will support multiple capital projects simultaneously and perform other duties as assigned. To be successful in this remote role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, a minimum of eight years of relevant experience, preferably in Food, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical or Power Generation. Familiarity with industry codes and standards is essential, and a Professional Engineering License is required. Frequent interaction with internal and external personnel will often require coordination between departments, making strong communication skills vital.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical expert and subject matter authority for civil, structural engineering on capital projects.
  • Ensure designs, standards, and procedures comply with regulatory requirements and align with global and regional engineering guidelines.
  • Propose and implement solutions to enhance project performance, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
  • Ensure consistent compliance of civil, structural, and architectural engineering standards, policies, and procedures with regulatory standards.
  • Provide civil, structural, and architectural engineering support required for build projects.
  • Contribute to safety and engineering recommendations to enhance performance, cost, efficiency, and schedule.
  • Support civil, structural, and architectural engineering deliverables in capital projects.
  • Support multiple capital projects at once.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of seven years of related work experience.
  • Experience with complex and multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
  • Experience with Petro/Chemical or Power Generation Facilities.
  • Professional Engineering License in Structural or Civil Engineering discipline.
  • Experience with IBC, ASCE, OSHA, ACI, AISC and Process Industry Practices (PIP).
  • Ability to evaluate and select engineering solutions and technologies.
  • Ability to work in a remote environment with virtual teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Food, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical or Power Generation.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
