About the position

The Structural Stress Analysis Engineer (III/IV) position at Belcan is a remote, full-time role focused on analyzing primary airframe structures for larger commercial aircraft. The role requires a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. The engineer will develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems, provide guidance to less experienced staff, and ensure adherence to best practices in structural analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis engineering work for larger commercial aircraft primary fuselage structure.
  • Perform detailed sizing and static stress of engineering detailed parts and assemblies.
  • Extract and utilize finite element analysis internal loads data.
  • Produce stress finite element models to support sizing and structural analysis.
  • Produce structural analysis substantiation Strength Check Notes/Reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering from a four-year accredited College or University.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience analyzing primary airframe structure.
  • Good understanding of aircraft metallic structures analysis, manufacturing processes, and materials.
  • Experience with initial structural sizing and detail structural analysis.
  • Proficiency in classical static stress analysis and allowables determination.
  • Proficiency in linear static finite element modeling and analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in fatigue analysis preferred.
  • Damage tolerance analysis experience preferred.
  • Experience with Boeing composite structural analysis methods and allowables determination preferred.
  • Previous Boeing Co. primary fuselage structures analysis experience preferred.
  • Experience with Boeing stress analysis tools: IAS, CSW, FEADMS, FAMOSS, MOSS Duberg, IDTAS, DTANL, SA preferred.
  • Experience with MSC PATRAN and NASTRAN preferred.
  • Experience with ENOVIA LCA & CATIA V5 is preferred.
