About the position

As a REMOTE Sybase Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting database systems that are integral to the data masking process and the creation of non-production copies of databases for application development teams. This position is part of a dedicated data masking team, where you will implement defined practices and automation to database instances to effectively obscure production data. Your troubleshooting skills will be essential in resolving issues related to the masking process or the database itself, ensuring that the systems run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess recent and deep administration experience with the Sybase DBMS, along with a basic understanding of scripting, particularly Unix shell scripting. Familiarity with other database technologies and a basic awareness of infrastructure technologies such as Unix server administration, storage, and data networking will be beneficial. Experience with database tools and monitors, as well as service management practices (ITIL), will be key components of your role. Additionally, you will be expected to develop estimates for planned work and communicate effectively about issues and solutions across all levels of the organization. A willingness to learn and adapt to agile delivery frameworks, such as SCRUM, SAFe, XP, and Kanban, is also important for this position.
