About the position

The Remote Technical Scrum Master will lead Agile-based software development processes within a new software development organization. This role involves facilitating Scrum ceremonies, tracking team progress, and ensuring adherence to Agile principles while promoting collaboration and accountability among team members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Agile-based SDLC/APLC for new software development organization.
  • Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings.
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress.
  • Maintain process documentation and ensure development teams practice core Agile principles.
  • Update Agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs.
  • Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices.
  • Assist with internal and external communication to improve transparency and radiate information.
  • Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition.
  • Identify and remove impediments and prevent distractions that interfere with the team's ability to deliver the sprint goal.
  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
  • Participate in the organization and planning of the development schedule based on methodology that creates a cohesive plan with identifiable critical path, task dependencies, and major milestones.
  • Adapt project plans, schedules, and resource assignments as required throughout pilot projects.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of software development experience.
  • Experience utilizing SAFe/Lean/Agile (Scrum, XP, Kanban) methodology within enterprise-level application development projects.
  • Experience performing Agile estimating, forecasting, and planning.
  • Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies including program increment (PI), product and iteration backlog grooming, iteration planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, iterations, system demos, and problem-solving sessions.
  • Experience utilizing Agile practices including behavior driven development, test driven development, continuous integration/deployment, devops, and code and design reviews.
