About the position
The Remote Truss Designer at UFP Industries, Inc. plays a crucial role in the design of roof and floor trusses for various construction projects, including single-family, multi-family, and commercial buildings. This position allows for remote work from anywhere in the United States and emphasizes the importance of accuracy and efficiency in design, contributing to the overall business strategy and operational effectiveness of the company.
Responsibilities
- Design metal plate-connected wood trusses and Wall Panels utilizing Mitek software
- Optimize designs for maximum efficiency
- Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy
- Assist sales and production with design service and troubleshooting
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Minimum high school graduate
- Preferred bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in related field/responsibilities
- Working knowledge and experience using Mitek software are preferred
- Working knowledge of floor and roof systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangars
